Established in 2004, the Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS) is a California-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity organization dedicated to improving society by providing resources to high achieving students, scientific researchers, community nonprofits, and educational organizations. IFERS founder and president Newton Lee is the CEO of Newton Lee Laboratories, founder and co-editor-in-chief of ACM Computers in Entertainment, former Disney producer/engineer, and former Bell Labs researcher. He has been honored with two community development awards from the California Junior Chamber of Commerce, and four project leadership awards from The Walt Disney Company. He currently serves on various advisory boards at the Art Institute of California, Digital Hollywood, UCLA, USC, Virginia Tech, and other educational organizations worldwide.
